During 2019, JSC "Grodno Azot" conducted negotiations in order to select a general contractor for the project "Construction of a Nitrogen Complex at 100, Prospect Kosmonavtov in Grodno". Nine companies received the documentation for negotiations, while five companies took part in the procedure: CITIC, CMIC, COMPLANT from China, SAMSUNG from Korea, and TECNIMONT S. p. A. from Italy. After consideration of the bidders' proposals and face-to-face negotiations, the bids of Chinese and Korean companies were rejected by the committee's decision as they did not meet the requirements of the documentation for negotiations. TECNIMONT S. p. A. was admitted to the bid improvement procedure.

The Italian company has experience in performing similar work as an EPC contractor, also in the Russian Federation. The company has provided indicative conditions for getting credits from European banks in its technical and commercial proposal. It should be noted that TECNIMONT S. p. A. guarantees a 5% increase in ammonia and urea production capacity without an increase in capital costs for project implementation, uses the latest energy-efficient technologies and offers to supply equipment of trusted manufacturers. It is worth noting that the Italian company has the lowest overall specific energy consumption of the complex compared to the other bidders. This indicates the most advanced and energy efficient technological concept for the integration of the complex, which is important for reducing the cost of finished products. The tender committee of JSC "Grodno Azot" chose TECNIMONT S. p. A. as a preferred bidder and continued working with the Italians on the contract as the general contractor for the project implementation.

JSC "Grodno Azot" will continue to work with TECNIMONT S. p. A. to conclude a contract for the construction of the nitrogen complex. Currently, the offer is being optimized. There is a certainty that taking into account the experience of TECNIMONT S. p. A. as a global EPC contractor and the experience of JSC "Grodno Azot" as an operating company at the stage of negotiation and signing of the contract, optimal solutions will be found to reduce capital costs and additionally reduce the cost of the project without detriment to the quality and impact on the performance of the plant as a whole.
